Big Eye Opener

This past weekend, I took a family friends little boy to Science City.  He’s two.
Wow, I felt like I had gone through a kickboxing class!  It was a lot of work and by the end of the day my feet and ankles were sore!  I was constantly walking, running, watching, sweating, up the steps, down the steps, no time to sit, no time to eat, but most of all I was having so much fun
It made me smile to see life through the eyes of a child.  See what fascinates them and watching them learn, interact, and play.
I loved holding his hand and walking around.  I instantly fell in love with the thought of being a mom.  It was an eye opener though of how life is going to change.  It’s going to be so much fun!

  1. How fun! And what great practice! Every time I hang out with a toddler, I'm always amazed at how exhausting it is. I can only hope that as we grow in our motherhood, that we build up the stamina to keep up!

  2. I agree, I babysit a lot for friends/ family and I have for years. And it always kicks my butt. But, it always reminds me too of why I am where I am!

  4. How sweet. AND FUN :) He is a doll.

I also had an eye opener this weekend. My two 8 year old neices spent the night. Saturday morning I went down the list of breakfast items, organic cereal, wheat pancakes...... eggs. They looked at me like I was nuts. One said you dont have pop tarts. The other said you need kid food. I laughed so hard and felt like a total old nerd. We ending up eating wheat pancakes :)

  5. You hit the nail on the head, Rach. That is exactly what being a mom is like... busy, busy, busy all the time, tired, sore, but all totally 100% worth doing it every single day over and over again. You're going to be AWESOME at it! :)
